What is the set of 5 GSS questions that have the most power to predict
the rest?

Actually, any analysis of joint coefficients of determination for the
entire GSS would be welcome.

That's "General Social Survey", is it? Sorry, count me out - I only worked
out what it was by checking Wikipedia just now. The Wikipedia article has a
couple of promising-looking links, though. This group's pretty empty just
now, sorry. I should try some other groups as well - but don't crosspost to
here, they're picky about crossposting.
